Jinxie + Trixie Nail Decals

I recently discovered Jinxie + Trixie Nail Decals from my IG sister @teamsparkle. The moment I saw those decals I flipped. Every one of their decals in vintage inspired. I love shopping small biz as well, so it was a win-win! You can find this lovely shop on IG @jinxieandtrixie where you can also comment or DM them for a purchase. I purchased two style sheets...one with poodles, bunnies, deers, kittie and giraffes...oh my! The other had sheep, ice cream, unicorns and birds. Each sheet was $8 and comes with about 3 dozen full decals. Some sheets also come with added accents, such as stars, etc.
The process is quite simple, you closely cut the decal that you want making sure you get as close to the edge of the character as possible. Then you submerge the decal in water for about 15 to 20 seconds. Remove the decal from the paper backing and place the decals directly to your dry nail, once dry seal with top coat...and voila!

I went with a nice pastel pink and pastel blue nail polish, since we are in our first week of spring and Easter is right around the corner. And I also chose the cute bunny decals from one of the decal sheets. I am now hooked on these decals. More than half of the decals resemble some of my vintage figurine collections throughout the house which is the cutest thing ever!

Before adding the bunny decals...
...and with the decal added! Isn't it the cutest and adds such a difference to your manicure. I added some light confetti dots to the mix. Love it!!!

Palm Springs Weekend

We recently celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary, February 23rd. Instead of a big hoopla- party w loaded up the pups and luggage into the ol' car and headed down to our favorite town...Palm Springs! It was the weekend before our anniversary and the weather was just perfect in town. Just about a 40 minute drive from our home, Palm Springs has been our go-to choice for weekenders. The people are amazing, the food fantastic, the atmosphere... just perfection.
The hotel was a complete surprise to me. My husband wanted, for once, to keep a surprise under wraps from me...which is nearly impossible. All I knew was that it was pet friendly. Yay! Of course, my pups are like my babies. As soon as we pulled up to the Riviera, my heart was racing. I have been dying to stay there! The front entrance is quite a site. The lighting is gorgeous and you truly feel transported to a chic version of the past.

Rusty and Myself as happy as can be.

The décor and furniture was quite beautiful, not entirely vintage but vintage inspired for sure. The rooms were very clean which is always a plus. Downtown was in walking distance which is nice for an afternoon stroll through the town.
Rusty and Ruby...Rusty was bored of pictures at this point.
Albrech caught admiring the palm trees.
Trying to capture a family portrait but all our pups want is kisses.
Don't look at the camera puppies. Thanks! ;)

Our last night in town, we headed over to SHAGs shop. This was perfect timing because.

Meeting SHAG once again, but for the first time at his Palm Springs Shop.

Then we decided to hit up all the celebrity Palm Springs homes...and by celebrities, we mean those that are relevant to US. =)

First we came across Marilyn Monroe's home, which was very covered by overgrown shrubbery.

Next was my favorite, Nat King Coles home. He is truly my favorite crooner.

Last, we visited Elvis Presley's honeymoon home. This is always a must stop for us when we are in town.

New Year, New Logo

I have fiddled with new logos numerous times, and finally created something more original and to my liking. This company of mine has been my baby since I was 17 years old...that's nearly 13 years strong. I wanted a logo that didn't involve anyone else's inspiration or input but that represented me. After all, I am the mastermind behind this teeny tiny operation. =) Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout the years and purchased from my shop. You have no idea how much your business and support is appreciated.

Being Belle

I was given the opportunity to check something off my Bucket List recently...to be Belle in a photo shoot. My good friend and photographer John Garcia (IG: airguy1603 )
We set out to a secluded woodsy area in the hills of Riverside. I was amazed that such a cute little retreat existed around our area.
Being a Full-Time Librarian, the love of books is so much a part of my life. When Beauty and the Beast was first released, I was a little girl in love with the new addition to the Disney Princess world. I was always a nerd, reading up on current events at a young age, and always packing a book where I went. So of course the Belle obsession was fitting.
The Belle dress was entirely made by me. The apron was handed down to me by my Grandmother. Shoes are Penny Loafer flats from Forever 21. The top is from Pinup Girl Clothing (White Lauren Top) (pinupgirlclothing.com)
One of my books is my prized possession...the green and gray one with artwork on the cover is a 1943 edition of Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. Being one of my favorite novels it had to be included.
I wanted to share all these fun images with you! Enjoy! =)

Minnie Rocks The Dots

Left to Right: Christine (IG: @DorkDujour ), Me! ( IG: @andyseyecandy ), Tisha (IG: @TeamSparkle ), Emily ( IG: @MyLittlePinupGirl ), Alison (IG: @Damfino )

Recently a group of us gals visited the Disney "Minnie Rocks the Dots" art show at Refinery 29 in Downtown Los Angeles. It was such a fun event held around National Polkadot Day. How perfect is that?! We can all agree...Minnie Mouse is the face of Polkadots. She has been rocking them since 1928. The gallery, in the heart of LA, was filled with different fashion pieces from multiple fashion shows from around the world. Minnie Mouse herself was rocking her very own custom ensemble designed by Christian Siriano from Project Runway.

There was an amazing red carpet photo-op area with the best lighting imaginable...which means PICTURE TIME! =)
Here I am with my best gal-pals Tisha and Emily. As you can see we had an amazing time.

I am wearing the most comfy High Waisted Denim from Pinup Girl Clothing (www.pinupgirlclothing.com) and their amazing Sabrina Top in Red. I can't get enough of those tops.

There was also an art wall for everyone to sign and leave little doodles if they would like. It was a must. I am far from artistic when it comes to drawing...but I tried my best. My friend Emily on the other hand did a fantastic job with her adorable Minnie doodle.

Here I am TRYING to make something artistic.

There was some Minnie Mouse merchandise in the art show as well. The Loungefly Purse was very close to coming home with me. It was adorable.
