Traci Lords Launch Party

I grew up wanting to be Wanda from Crybaby...Traci Lords to be exact! I cut my bangs because of her and grabbed everything I could in polka dots. Traci's character was my first exposure to the modern rockabilly scene and I was only 11. So when I hear Laura Byrnes of Pinup Girl Clothing was bringing Traci Lords on as a designer for her own branch of clothing I was so excited, but when I heard Traci was making an appearance at the Burbank boutique...I was in shock! I couldn't wait to finally meet her!

With my gal-pals Kat and Cristine!
My bestie, Emily, with Traci!

Meeting Traci for the first time...I was so nervous that the words that came out of my mouth was "I grew up watching your movies!" not what I meant...obviously! I meant I grew up watching Crybaby religiously. I laughed so hard that moment...and she knew why.

The babe of all bad ass babes.

Pumpkins and Pinups Galore!

I had a fun filled weekend packed with pumpkins and pinups at the Disneyland Resort. My amazing gal-pals and I strolled around the fall decorated parks. Of course packed with pumpkins...my favorite of course! It was a weekend filled with much needed girl time and laughs.
I can't get over the huge Mickey Mouse Pumpkin they display at the entrance of Main Street USA. It's a photo-op must!

Birthday Pups

Recently, our puppies celebrated their birthdays. We always celebrate our furbabies' birthdays. Ruby celebrated her 2nd birthday on September 1st and Rusty celebrate his 4th Birthday on the 29th of August. It was small, sweet and perfect. We whipped up a carrot cake and they were just thrilled.

Pinup Photoshoot

Here are a few shots from a pinup photoshoot I had at our house. So much fun! I can't wait for the next one.

Disneyland Photopass

Of course no one was happy about the new Disneyland Resort Annual Passport hike in prices, but they did sweeten the deal with Photopass access which is great. Take advantage! It's even greater when you find a photopass photographer that's ready to do a photoshoot. Here are a few from a recent visit.

Pinup Parade @ Disneyland

Every year, twice a year, the Pinup Parade @ Disneyland becomes a staple event that I attend with bells and whistles on! My two loves, Disneyland and Pinup fashions, all smashed up into one fun filled day! The event is hosted by Pinup Girl Clothing (www.pinupgirlclothing.com) It's a great opportunity to mingle, make new friends and meet the dream team behind PUG, a.k.a Pinup Girl.

Every Pinup Parade I create a handmade poodle skirt adorned with my favorite Disney characters...or in this case my favorite Disney movie scene. My first Pinup Parade I recreated the Flying Dumbo ride and this last Fall Pinup Parade my girls and I were the Motorama Girls from Cars. I knew I had to create something new, out of the ordinary...and it hit me! I had to recreate my favorite scene from a Disney classic...the "Morning Afternoon" scene from the Disney classic Alice in Wonderland.

It took me about a month to pull this skirt together, since I have a full time job (darn you Adulthood.)
The backdrop is deep green felt and each flower is created by layers and layers of colored felt. Each detail in hand painted as well. I wore it being incomplete...there are many other flowers, insects and details I want to add.

The Birthday Belle

So, today is the big day! My Birthday!! But since it falls on a weekday, there isn't much celebrating you can do...without going to work like a complete zombie the following day. So last weekend my friends joined me at Disneyland to do a little birthday bashing! Let me just start off by saying I have the BEST friends around. They were completely down a good Disney Bound. Of course my bound of choice was Beauty and The Beast. The librarian in me just squealed at the thought.

The pals, my hubby and I strutted our stuff down Main Street and Fantasyland like no one's business and we LOVED it!  Our dear friend John Garcia ( IG: @airguy1603 ) took our shots....isn't he an amazing photographer?!
I was Belle, my Hubby was Gaston, my girlfriends were Mrs. Potts, Chip and Fifi the feather duster.
I made my Belle jumper, my top is by Pinup Girl Clothing (www.pinupgirlclothing.com)
