Our venue and cake testing!!

The other day Albrech and I headed to our possible Venue location to get a peek around. Not only that....but we also found our cake!
It was unexpected, but the other day we did our first cake testing...and I can assure you that it will be the last! We found our baker for our wedding day!

The day started off with us just checking out the Elk's Lodge for a possible reception venue. We are very happy with the venue for our little and simple wedding. The location is very "homey" feeling.

The view is amazing!!! The ballroom has chandeliers and beautiful drapes. I am not an extravagant person so this alone works perfectly. I don't need much more than this...just my guest and I am set.

There is a cute old-fashioned bar next to the ballroom.

After the venue visit, we were recommended to a baker. Since the baker was just down the street we decided to just head down to give it a quick check. The baker, David, was so helpful and humble. He baked us his top choices then and there. We made our decision within ten minutes! We are going with the Sparkling Pink Champagne cake flavor! I was in heaven. The cake was very moist and delicious. I was expected his prices to be higher, but they were beyond reasonable. Just when I thought the day couldn't get any better, the baker tells me that he is from GUATEMALA! My home country! It means a lot when you meet people from your "Tierra!" There is a sense of pride and respect when meeting others from your same decent.
Here are a few pictures of our amazing cake tasting!
