Halloween decorating at our place is taken very seriously ;)
I start decorating right on September 1st...I mean why not?!?! This year we decided to take advantage of our large front windows and place a cut out of Oogie Boogie to resemble his first appearance in The Nightmare Before Christmas as a shadow in the moon.
To create a large silhouette cut out for your windows you need black poster paper (Dollar Tree), scissors, pencil, tape and a print out of your image.
I achieved this by finding that exact image online and blowing it up in Microsoft Publisher. I resized my project to the size of my window and placed the image exact how I would like it to appear. Then I printed the project. The important thing is to keep your prints in order so it's easier to lay them out like a puzzle. Laying out the pieces needs to be done prior to cutting out your project. I laid everything out to make sure my image was right and then I taped the pieces by rows...not attaching the columns at all. I then cut out the image. I then taped my multiple pieces of poster paper. For this image I needed about 4 posters. I laid out the entire image atop the black posters just to make sure my image would fit. I then started tracing the image onto the posters. After making sure my outline was correct, I cut the poster. Once you're done, you could immediately place it on your window. I secured mine with shipping tape.
