Pinup Parade @ Disneyland

Every year, twice a year, the Pinup Parade @ Disneyland becomes a staple event that I attend with bells and whistles on! My two loves, Disneyland and Pinup fashions, all smashed up into one fun filled day! The event is hosted by Pinup Girl Clothing (www.pinupgirlclothing.com) It's a great opportunity to mingle, make new friends and meet the dream team behind PUG, a.k.a Pinup Girl.

Every Pinup Parade I create a handmade poodle skirt adorned with my favorite Disney characters...or in this case my favorite Disney movie scene. My first Pinup Parade I recreated the Flying Dumbo ride and this last Fall Pinup Parade my girls and I were the Motorama Girls from Cars. I knew I had to create something new, out of the ordinary...and it hit me! I had to recreate my favorite scene from a Disney classic...the "Morning Afternoon" scene from the Disney classic Alice in Wonderland.

It took me about a month to pull this skirt together, since I have a full time job (darn you Adulthood.)
The backdrop is deep green felt and each flower is created by layers and layers of colored felt. Each detail in hand painted as well. I wore it being incomplete...there are many other flowers, insects and details I want to add.
