Calico Ghost Town

I would be lying if I said I disliked living in California. From our home, the mountains, the ocean, and the desert are within one hour of driving. One place in particular is Calico Ghost Town...a historic mining town in the middle of the desert in southern California. Just about two hours from L.A. and one hour from our home nestled in the San Bernardino Mountains. I was so excited to dig my cowboy boots into this historic town. The hubby and I are quite the history nerds, so anything with a rich history you can count us in. The scenic drive is one of the old western films, and the town is nothing short of it either. From the entrance and on you get a rustic feel of what life might of been like for old townspeople of Calico. The shops up and down the town's strip have been filled with classic amenities and novelties, as well as modern do-dads.
There is a candle shop and a cute pet friendly boutique.
Being a State Park, there is a small $8 entrance fee. A measly sum for a fun filled day including railroad rides, panning for silver and walking through the old mystery shack. And don't forget to get yourself out the middle of town for a good ol' western shoot-out.

I decided on wearing my Green Sabrina Top and Deadly Dame Denim Capris from Pinup Girl Clothing (www.pinupgirlclothing.com)
I pair my outfit up with my new-to-me thrifted vintage Mexican straw hat and vintage novelty embroidered cowboy boots.
Just a couple of outlaws necking on the bridge.
The town's general store, filled with homemade candies.
